Air ducts and dryer vents get dirty in Central Georgia, and our expert service technicians are here to help.
How do you know when your air ducts are dirty? A few signs include: your central air vents located in the walls, floor, or ceiling are dirty or have a layer of dust on them, you see mold or mildew on your vents, the airflow out of your vents is not strong, there is an odor coming out of your vents, or you can’t remember the last time your ducts were cleaned. Any of these conditions are a sign that you should get your ducts cleaned by a professional.
Let’s start with the air ducts for your HVAC system…this is the system that runs your central air conditioning and central heat. All ducts eventually get dirty. When the system is blowing the nice comfortable air into your home, it is also sucking in air that is filled with dust, pollen, and other things that may not even be visible to you. You’re air filter gets a majority of this, but not all of it. This all collects inside your ducts and eventually gets recirculated into your home through your vents.
Sometimes ducts can grow mold. There are many ways this can happen, often due to an issue with your ductwork, but sometimes due to the climate or an HVAC system that isn’t the proper size for your home or business. Usually, you don’t even know there is anything wrong. But we can test for mold, and address the issue with the appropriate methods. You certainly don’t want mold getting blown into your home through your vents.
How do you know when your dryer vent or duct are clogged? A few signs include: it takes longer than you expect for your clothes to dry in your dryer, your dryer is very hot, your laundry room is hot and humid, or there is a musty smell. If you look at where your dryer vents outside, you may notice that the flaps in the vent don’t move, or even see the vent physically clogged with lint. An of these conditions are a sign that you should get your dryer ducts and vents cleaned by a professional.
If your dryer vent and duct is clogged with lint, the most likely thing that will happen is that your laundry will take a long time to dry, increasing your energy bills significantly. Although rare, the worst case is that a clogged duct and vent could cause a fire. It’s worthwhile to get your dryer vent and duct clean by a professional like us.

Most Common Questions We Get
How long does it take to clean all of our air ducts and dryer vent?
A standard sized house will take 2 to 4 hours. Larger houses, or houses with hard to reach ducts or HVAC systems can take longer. Cleaning a dryer vent and duct will usually take about an hour.
Does air duct cleaning use chemicals?
A typical service will not require the use of any chemicals. In some circumstances, such as certain types of mold being identified, we use a biocide that won’t require anyone to leave the home. However, for certain types of mold or infestations, we may need to use a stronger biocide that would require no one to be in the home for at least one hour – this is not very common. We will let you know which type of service we recommend based on our inspection.
Does air duct cleaning leave a mess?
There is some debris that comes out of the ducts during the cleaning process, despite your system being under negative pressure (similar to a vacuum). Where necessary, we cover the floor and furnishings with drop cloths, some walls and trim with plastic guards, and we wear booties.
Will I notice anything after my dryer vents are cleaned?
Immediately, your clothes will dry faster. For many, the laundry room will smell better, and won’t get as hot when the dryer is operating.
Will my house catch fire if my dryer vents are clogged with lint?
The National Fire Protection Association estimates that several thousands of house fires each year originate from dryers with lint build up. Getting your dryer vents professionally cleaned will remove any lint build up.
